Beef Thai Lettuce Wraps

Tonight I made beef lettuce wraps.

Something pretty close to:

but without the cashews.

I used ginger in place of the galangal (and probably a bit more than called for, as I was close to finishing what I had).

I didn’t use any chili (in deference to G’s taste buds), and I did not use any brown sugar (but hoisin is pretty sweet to start with).

It was otherwise pretty similar.

I also served it with some corn on the cob because G had been asking for it.

G didn’t actually eat that much, but did lose a tooth in the corn (!).

Meanwhile, L & I ate heaps. I thought it was a touch sweet, but I really liked the extra ginger. I think I would have preferred it with the heat of some chili though..
