Chinese Pork Ribs

I bought a large rack of pork ribs yesterday at the butcher.

Chinese Pork Ribs

(actually my own image, omg! there was another piece about 1/4 of this too!)

I essentially followed this recipe exactly for the cooking:

https://www.inspiredtaste.net/7179/sweet-and-spicy-oven-baked-ribs/

Except with a completely different sauce.

For the sauce I basically ad-libbed a version of the glaze in this (or many similar) recipe:

https://cafedelites.com/sticky-chinese-barbecue-pork-belly-ribs-char-siu-recipe/

and then served the whole thing over plain white rice.

I think L & I enjoyed it, but while G ate a fair bit he didn’t seem as enthusiastic as I might have thought. He is having some issues with a few of his teeth being super loose right now though..

It was totally fall apart tender though, even after I’d had quite a struggle removing the membrane from the back of the ribs (I did at least cut it along each rib though).

Not super happy with the sauce, but the cooking method was dead easy with very little prep time, just a long time in the oven.
